Dexter

To fill the void left in my TV watching by the pause in Walking Dead, I've started watching Dexter, and it's a little disturbing, but it is great! I highly recommend it. And sorry, I know I haven't been posting a lot recently, but now you know why; I've been watching so much Dexter! And yes, that is a dead hand in the second picture (I told you it's disturbing).

Spider - Man Villains

I've already published 2 lists of Batman villains, so I think it's about time for a top 10 Spider - Man villain list:
  1. Venom
  2. Green Goblin
  3. Doctor Octopus
  4. Sandman
  5. The Lizard
  6. Hobgoblin
  7. Electro
  8. Carnage
  9. Kraven the Hunter
  10. the Scorpion

Namor vs Aquaman

I have concluded that Namor is cooler than Aquaman because:
  • Namor seems less human and therefore more believable as the king of Atlantis
  • There has never been a Namorlad, and thank the 9 Divines (yes I believe in Talos, and yes I know that's the wrong franchise) for that :)
  • Having a left hand made of water while underwater seems a little awkward
  • Namor's new costume is way cooler than Aquaman's costume
  • They pretty much have the same powers, but Aquaman can't fly

"Aquaman sucks."

Dovahkiin

In my opinion, being the Dovahkiin from Skyrim would be one of the coolest things ever (especially if it included all the regular magic and weapons)!! It seems like there's a Shout for everything! I'm even trying to learn regular words of Draconic, but it is not going well. I have to admit though, once in a while I try to use a Thu'um like pushing stuff by saying "Fus Ro Dah!" or trying to make myself run faster by saying "Wuld!" (I haven't learned the next 2 words), or if my cats get too crazy I suppose I could try to use Kyne's Peace, but they would probably be too powerful for it to work :-)

Time Ship

I don't just want a time machine - I want a time ship that can travel through both time and space! I'm thinking either like the ones that they have in some episodes of Star Trek, or like the either the one Kang had in his 1st appearance (that was Avengers 8 right?), or his more famous time sphere. And I know neither of these pictures is quite right, but they're cool ships.

Revised Batman Villains

I've already published a top 10 list of my favorite Batman villains, but I've somewhat changed my mind on them, so here's my new top 10:

1 and 2: Two-Face and Joker (I don't know which is which)
3: Bane
4: Clayface
5: Scarecrow
6: Mister Freeze
7: Riddler
8: Ras Al Ghul
9: Killer Croc
10: Deadshot
  • just thought I'd add, 4 - 8 were very close

Ultraman

I think one of the awesomest powers / items to have would be Hayata's Beta capsule that allows him to turn into Ultraman, the hero of the Japanese Kaiju show (the original one is my favorite). If you haven't seen the show, it's about a group called Science Patrol that deal with mosters and stuff, and one of them (Hayata) can turn into a giant extraterrestrial hero called Ultraman (if you haven't seen it, you should).

I'm Still All Mad

I forgot yesterday that there was no Walking Dead, so I was looking forward to it all day, but then I remembered that there wasn't a new episode. Well, there's my quick update - Ackbar out.

PS... I don't know if I will, but if I continue posting my thoughts on Walking Dead between now and February, you can watch me slowly go insane - wait a second - go insane?..................yeah........we'll go with that...

Arm Blades

It would be awesome to have retractable arm blades! I'm thinking either 2 long blades like Baraka or 6 shorter blades like Wolverine. Best case scenario, they would be made of adamantium and I would have little metal openings in my arms/hands so they don't have to cut through my skin when I take them out. I think I like the big swords more, but in terms of their other traits, I would go with Wolverine because I want a healing factor and to keep looking as incredibly handsome as I do now.

Using the Force

Do you ever try to use the Force? I often do when I'm either too lazy to go get something or I'm under a blanket with a cat and don't want to get up. I also try to use Jedi mind tricks sometimes. Occasionally the person happens to do what I want, but it's usually a coincidence. Or is it???????

NOOOO!

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I read the Walking Dead comic books and watch the TV show (I highly recommend them). The new episode last  night was the mid-season finale, so now I'm all mad because I don't think the next episode comes out until February. I don't wanna wait till February! I don't want to spoil what happened in the most recent episode if you haven't seen it yet, but it was big, so I want to see what happens next.

Some Stuff I Want To Do

  • Slowly walk away from an explosion
  • Throw a lighter into a gasoline-soaked pile of something
  • Shoot something with 2 pistols while falling through the air
  • Crash through a window
  • Drive a truck through the wall of a building
  • Drive a car up a ramp and into the air, then land and keep going

Nightwing

I find the character of Nightwing very interesting. As the first Robin, he was by far the lamest of the lame, as far as the bat family is concerned (I'm sorry but it's true). But then he grew up and realized that it's cooler to dress in mostly black and call himself Nightwing than to dress in primary colors, a short cape and a speedo, and name himself after a cheerful bird. And now as Nightwing, he's one of my favorite Batman allies.

IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ALL OF BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, DO NOT READ THIS!

Since they landed in Africa in Daybreak (the last episode), what happened to all the Raptors? Did they destroy them, or are they still there somewhere? And what's the deal with Starbuck? Also, are the Cylon Centurions still out there in their Basestar? One more thing: was Anders actually not all brain dead the whole time, or did he just sort of come back at the end? And that piano player was never really there, was he? I just realized that after watching the whole show for the 3rd time (that's right - the 3rd time).

Kung Fu Panda

I recently watched the movie Kung Fu Panda (I don't know why), and I noticed a ton of references to other movies. The training scenes reminded me of Pai Mei, and the turtle even did a version of the five point palm exploding heart technique. The two fight scenes between the Panda and the evil guy and the little master dude and the evil guy were both very reminiscent of Neo and Agent Smith at the end of Matrix 3. Jack Black also mentioned the invisible trident of destiny....Pick of Destiny reference?

Sound Effects

I want there to be sound effects for things I do. Especially that whooshing one that movies use a lot for when I do things like turn my head quickly or something like that. I also want a variety of narrational music for whatever I'm doing that everyone can hear. It would be good to be able to turn it off though, in case I either get tired of it, or it would reveal my thoughts when I wish to conceal them.

What kind of underwear does Superman wear?

This is actually a serious question. Is there some kind of Kryptonian underwear that he wears, does he wear earth underwear to fit in better, or is his innermost layer his supersuit? Or is there some other option that I'm not considering?

Smoke Wings

I want to be able to fly, and any style would be awesome, but there are some that I like more than others. The one I want most is to generate some sort of enchanted black smoke-like substance and shape it into wings, with which I would fly. I would also enjoy eagle or demon wings, but what I really want is for wisps of black smoke to thicken and form wings that I could dissipate and reform at will. I also want to be able to make other things out of it, like a cloak or a shield, or tentacles.

Another Power I Want

In my earlier post about powers I want, I was referring to preexisting, traditional types of powers. But now I'm going to talk about a weirder and more unusual power I want. I want to create and control trains. I would want track to appear a couple feet in front of the trains I summon, and disintegrate once the back car had passed. I also want the track to be able to levitate and/or float on water as well as just sitting on the ground. It would be good for running stuff over, transportation, creating a barrier, and lots of other stuff! the possibilities are endless...well maybe not endless, but there are a lot.

Vehicles I Want

Here is a list of vehicles that I want (in no particular order): the Batmobile*, the Owlship from Watchmen, a STAP or landspeeder with guns, Ghost Rider's Flame Bike, the Batwing, a Cylon heavy Raider, any vehicle Halo besides a Mongoose, an APU from the Matrix (or one of those knockoffs from Avatar), General Greivous' wheel bike, the Silver Surfer's board, and a bunch of others that I can't think of right now.
*To see which Batmobiles I do and don't like, check out my post: http://geniusideasandstuffiwant.blogspot.com/2011/11/batmobiles.html

Werewolves

Sorry, I know I've been talking about Skyrim a lot, but I just thought I needed to share some cool stuff. My nord, Bjorn, is now a werewolf who kills for cash (dark brotherhood and companions). Lycanthropy one of my favorite things / abilities that he has because there are no major disadvantages when you're in human form, and you're so powerful in beast form. It's also cool because you can change once a day and the duration is extended when you feed. And for those of you wondering how to become a werewolf, here it is in 3 easy steps: 1. join the companions in whiterun 2. do a couple  quests until the bald dude tells you to meet him in the underforge 3. go meet him, then he and Aela the Huntress will turn you.

Skyrim

Excuse the expression, but Skyrim is frackin' awesome! I'm a Nord named Bjorn, in the Theives' Guild, and plan on joining the Companions, the Dark Brotherhood, the Imperial Legion (if possible) and the College of Winterhold. And I just used a forge to make some cool armor, including an iron helmet and a banded iron shield, so now I look almost exactly like this guy:

Harry Potter: It All Ends

The slogan on the Deathly Hallows part 2 posters was "It all ends" and now it has. Yesterday, I bought and watched it, so now I have no more Harry Potter stuff to look forward to. I'm kinda sad about that, since between the books and the movies, I've spent a lot of time waiting for the next Harry Potter to come out, and now it's over. The last step was for the last movie to come out on DVD and to watch it at home.

IT'S OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They now have acted; It's finally here. Bethesda told of the Elder Scrolls's return. The Fallout games were merely a delay. That in the time after Oblivion was released, the sons of Skyrim would get their own game. Few wanted to believe; to believe a new Elder Scrolls game could even exist, but when the gameplay trailer was released, the truth dawned in fire! There is one that other games fear - one that will steal many of their would-be customers. It is known as The Elder Scrolls V........Skyrim!

Fus Ro Dah!!!!!!!!

Dovahkiin, Dovahkiin, nahl ok zin los vahrin, wah dein, vokul, mafaeraak ahst vaal, ahrk fin norok paal graar, fud nost hon zindro zan, Dovahkiin, Fah hin, kogaan mu draal!

PS: I applaud you if you understand that last bit.

Powers I want

I think some of the coolest powers to have would be really fast teleportation, creating and controlling huge storms, shapeshifting in the style I talked about in an earlier post, and super powerful telekinesis. So basically something like Movie Azazel,Thor, Clayface, and Jean Grey. If I could pick four powers to have, those would probably be my choices.

2 Days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THERE. ARE. TWO. DAYS. UNTIL. SKYRIM. COMES OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so so so so so excited! I have been since I first heard they were making it, and that was long ago. Of course, I was just reading a book that used the words sky's rim. Internally, I was in agony when I read that.

Glidey Cape

As you can probably tell if you've read a lot of my earlier posts, I really like Batman and I  really want a lot of his stuff (primarily his Batman stuff, but also his Bruce Wayne stuff). One of the things he has that  I want most is his cape, or as I call it, his "glidey cape". Not only do I think I would look awesome with a big black cape, but I would love to glide around with it! It's also a good safety device that makes falling off a high place into a fun opportunity to do some gliding!

Mjolnir

Getting Mjolnir* (and being able to use it) would be one of the coolest things ever. Turning into a god, flying, smashing stuff, controlling storms - it would be so much fun! Sadly though, I doubt I'll ever get it. Not because it's fictional or anything like that, but because I know right now that I would be really irresponsible with it. I wouldn't kill anyone, and I doubt I would even seriously injure anyone, but I can easily see myself flying around and destroying rocks and stuff, or making it rain on people I don't like.
*Shame on you if you didn't know that Mjolnir is Thor's hammer!

Batmobiles

I really want a batmobile, but I'm kinda picky when it comes to which one I want. The old Adam West version is basically just a regular car with some bells and whistles welded on and with all due respect, is pretty lame. I'm also not a huge fan of the old comic book one with the face on the front and the one fin on the back. It just somehow seems too narrow or something. The only other comic book version that I don't love is the one from the Jeph Loeb / Tim Sale trilogy (Haunted Knight, The Long Halloween, Dark victory - read those if you haven't). Besides that, I like pretty much all the other comic book versions (especially the ones from Batman: Hush - Jeph Loeb / Jim Lee - also read that if you haven't). I also like the one from the relatively old movie with (I think) Michael Keaton, where it has a cockpit near the back and it does that thing where it deploys all that armor on it. Then of course, I also like the new one from Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and soon, The Dark Knight Rises.

November 5th

Remember, remember the fifth of November; the gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot!
I just remembered what day it is today and wanted to wish everyone reading this a happy Guy Fawkes Day!

Shape shifting

I think shape shifting would be one of the coolest powers to have. Ideally, I would be like a combination of Clayface and Odo from DS9, where I'm usually human, but I could also turn into other people, animals, or things. I also want to be able to turn into a big blobby monster form like Clayface. Some shape shifters can copy voices and some can't, so I would hope to have that ability. I would probably imitate Shao Kahn and the Halo announcer guy's voices the most.

Video Game Power

In a very early post of mine, I said I wanted the power of a cartoon character (http://geniusideasandstuffiwant.blogspot.com/2011/09/cartoon-power.html). I was recently thinking along similar lines and I also think it would be cool to have the power of  a stereotypical video game character. They respawn after dying, being injured, or even on the verge of death, never seems to hinder their ability to fight, beating enemies restores health and power, and have lots of other little advantages. I also think it would be to have a video game made starring me.

On Liquid Metal

I don't know if you've read my earlier post about wanting liquid metal that I could control (http://geniusideasandstuffiwant.blogspot.com/2011/09/t-1000.html), but a friend of mine thought of something almost identical at about the same time before I ever mentioned my idea to him, so I thought I should give him some credit. I also just realized that I forgot to mention that I would want to make it go from solid to liquid and vice versa at will.

Random Questions

How, if at all, does the Rhino from Spider-Man use the bathroom? What happens if a vampire tries to feed on a zombie? Does Darth Vader have a toilet in that little room where he doesn't have to wear his life support suit, or does he have his own special bathroom with the same environmental controls? Why doesn't Star Trek ever (seriously, EVER) show a bathroom on a starship? Does the Joker have green arm, leg and armpit hair? What does Prof. Slughorn's hourglass do if the some people in the room find the conversation very interesting, but others don't? This is a weird one, but does Mister Freeze's pee have a lower freezing point, and if not, how does he pee? Does Superman sweat, and if so, how does he get the Kryptonian sweat molecules out of his uniform? Do zombies poop?
By the way, these are all things that I honestly want to know, so if anyone has an answer, please tell me in a comment : )

Ice Guns

One weapon I really want is an ice gun like Mr. Freeze's. I like that it's very versatile, so you can use it to trap enemies, kill them, create walls, make platforms and many other things. I think I would want either a big rifle that's not connected to anything, or a relatively large pistol that's connected to a larger unit on either my belt or my back (I fon't really want a full suit of cold armor). I think a small independent pistol is just unrealistic and I would be afraid of losing it.

New Ghost Rider Movie

I recently saw some trailers for the new Ghost Rider Movie, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and all I gotta say is: it's about time. This one looks better than the last one. Mind you, it wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but it can't even come close to comparing with other Marvel movies like Iron Man. Blackheart was disappointing, "Mephistopheles" instead of Mephisto was disappointing, there was no mention of Zarathos, they made the Caretaker another Ghost Rider, and the plot just wasn't that good. So hopefully Marvel will make up for it with a good remake, because Ghost Rider deserves it!

Avengers

The Avengers Movie comes out kinda soon and I'm really excited! I've been excited since I first felt that rush of nerd-adrenaline when I saw the after credits scene of Iron Man 1, and now that the trailer with movie footage in it is out, this movie cannot come out soon enough! I'm just praying that after all this buildup, it will be as good as all the trailers and stuff made it look.

Armor

Marvel Comics has so many characters that wear mechanized armor that it's hard to decide which one I want. If you don't know what I mean, here are some examples: Iron Man, Doctor Doom, Crimson Dynamo, Titanium Man, Firepower, the Mandroids , War Machine and lots of others. I like the uniqueness of Doom's weapons, like shooting rock molecules out of his fingers that grow into boulders, but Iron Man always wins when he fights any of those guys, so I would probably go with the good ol' Starktech. The briefcase storage and cybernetic control features of his Extremis armor are pretty cool and convenient, not to mention the power, speed and integration with other technology, so I'd  say we have a winner.

Grapple Guns

I really want a grapple gun! In my earlier robot arms post (you should check out the link at the bottom if you haven't read it), I mentioned a desire for a grappling cable launcher built into robot arms, but I've changed my mind. A pistol that fires a grappling line would be so much cooler. Rorschach from Alan Moore's Watchmen has a pretty cool one. Nightowl made it, but I don't think he made himself one. I wonder why not? Batman also has a few cool ones. I like the Dark Knight and Arkham games' versions the best. I like the batclaw because you can also use it to grab people and stuff.

Arkham City

I just got Arkham City  yesterday and it's soooooo cool! I would have posted something about it yesterday, but when I get a new game like that, everything else temporarily just kind of ceases to exist. It's like Arkham Asylum on either Venom, Titan or maybe both.

Batman Stuff

Arkhan City just came out and I'm really excited! I actually haven't played it yet but I really want to. I'm also really looking forward to The Dark Knight Rises this summer! If you've read my earlier posts, you know Bane is my 3rd favorite Batman villain*, so I'll enjoy seeing him in a movie.
